“Hotel Balzer. Transfer”  | Public installation  |  Imaginable architecture

Project occurred as a reflexion on the place and time of staying in particular environment, namely – in small town Bad Ems, Germany and based on the real situation – architectural ensemble »Kurhotel Villa Balzer»(Consisted from two buildings. Built in 1853. In 2005 - demolished the main building). The project presents attempt to transfer one space, which does not exist already, but was well-known to the people (Hotel Balzer), into another real, concrete space-and-time. It is kind of transferring a part of the hotel in both physical and metaphorical sense and creating imaginary space which is displayed in the form of temporary interactive installation - art work in public space.

Project regards notion of the architectural space as a virtual, imaginable and temporary space. The project “Hotel Balzer. Transfer” is not only as a reminder about the extraordinary history of the building but also about the process of the transformation from the most expensive and most luxury hotel into the ruin.  It is also a certain piece of reality which blurs the boarders between build and imagined, between past and nowadays. It gives a possibility to touch the kind of the inside of the building, and now it become real for everyone to see..
